This is a treatment technique in which, for patients who have lost all their teeth, we fix prostheses on straight and angled implants on the same day and send the patient home with their teeth that same day.

Why do we do All-on-Four?

When we lose all our teeth, the teeth themselves are not the only thing we lose. Along with the teeth, a significant amount of the bone surrounding them is also lost. Bone loss is one of the factors that directly affects the number and position of the implants we can place.

Another factor that limits implant placement with tooth loss is anatomical structures such as the sinuses and the nerve structures in the jawbones. With bone loss, these anatomical structures become more superficial, and we need to use advanced surgical techniques to place implants without harming them. Conditions such as our patients' general health, a longer treatment period and sometimes higher treatment costs can prevent the use of these techniques.

In such cases, we use this technique because it allows us to make implant-supported prostheses for our patients very quickly by placing our implants at an angle.

Are the teeth fixed in the All-on-Four technique?

In this technique, we prepare the permanent prostheses for our patient over a period of 3-6 months, based on the temporary prosthesis fitted on the first day. All the temporary and permanent prostheses we use in this technique are prepared as fixed prostheses. In other words, our patient leaves the clinic with fixed teeth on the day of the procedure and goes through the following stages with fixed teeth.

Who is the All-on-Four technique suitable for?

It can be applied safely to all patients who have no teeth in their mouths, have sufficient bone volume and do not have systemic diseases that might prevent implant placement.

In addition, thanks to today's advanced treatment options, this procedure can be applied to individuals with controlled systemic diseases, with their doctor's approval.

What are the advantages of the All-on-Four implant technique?

1. It offers the chance to make a fixed set of teeth with a single surgical procedure on the same day for patients with poor dentition.

2. In cases where implants cannot be placed because of bone resorption in the back areas of the jaws, it offers the chance to use fixed, aesthetic porcelain teeth with 4 implants placed in the front area.

3. The operating time is shorter.

4. It provides an aesthetic appearance, smile line and smile aesthetics that can be planned individually.

5. It is easy to clean and maintain.

6. It is suitable for patients who cannot use removable dentures and who have a gag reflex.

7. Its design differs from complete dentures (palatal prostheses). It is easy to get used to and use because it does not cover the patient's palate.

8. If the indications are suitable, the implants and the temporary prosthesis on them are placed on the same day, and patients leave the clinic with their teeth.

9. The problems common with removable dentures, such as rubbing, burning and tongue irritation, do not occur.

10. Because the number of sessions needed for treatment is low, it is suitable for patients with limited time.

11. For patients, treatment and clinical monitoring with the All-on-Four implant system are more comfortable.

How does the treatment process work in the All-on-Four technique?

For patients we will treat with this technique, the treatment plan is drawn up using the imaging and intra-oral records taken at the first examination, and preparation of the patient's temporary teeth begins. If the patient has old prostheses at the start of treatment, these can be adapted and used as temporary prostheses.

After the temporary teeth have been prepared, the day on which the implants will be placed is set, and on the day the implants are placed, the temporary teeth are fixed in the mouth and our patients leave the clinic with their fixed teeth.

Does pain occur during the procedures?

In routine cases, implant placement is carried out under local anaesthesia in a clinical setting. As a result, there is no pain during the procedure. After the procedure, mild tingling and slight swelling may occur once the anaesthetic wears off, and this discomfort can be controlled with painkillers.

Especially in cases where a surgical guide is used, this discomfort is almost non-existent, and patients can carry on with their normal lives when they leave the clinic on the day of the procedure.
